Brian George Green

Brian George Green, 35, passed away Thursday, December 1, 2016 at his home.
A funeral service was held Tuesday, December 6 at 11 a.m. at the Gouverneur Community Center, 4673 State Hwy. 58, Gouverneur with Fr. Shane Lynch, pastor of St. James Catholic Church, Gouverneur officiating and burial in Hermon Cemetery.
Calling hours were Monday from 2p.m. to 4p.m. and 6p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Green Funeral Home, Gouverneur.
Brian was born on September 23, 1981 in Potsdam and is the son of Jack and Sandy Doty Green.
He graduated from Gouverneur High School in 1999 and from SUNY Oswego in 2003. Brian attended the NYS Corrections Academy and has served as a corrections officer for over ten years.
Brian enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards, and trying to win back his money shooting darts that he had lost playing golf.
Brian is survived by his mother Sandy of Gouverneur, a step-son Dylan Ferguson, a brother Michael and Lisa Green of Gouverneur, two sisters- Colette Green and Brian Bush of Gouverneur, Jennifer and Donald Fagnan of Falls Church, VA, a nephew Jack Fagnan and a niece, Jane Fagnan. He is also survived by his aunts and uncles Tim Doty of Florida, Mary and Michael Cardone of New Jersey, Debbie and Ronnie Reddick of Gouverneur, Betsy and Tim Lampson of Buffalo, Martha Storrin of Gouverneur and Tom and Karen Green of Gouverneur, and his cousins Todd Doty, Katey Doty, Jessie Allen, Maegan Harrington, Matt Cardone, Michael Redddick, Nathan Reddick, Sean Ratliff, Ally Ratliff, Valerie Jolley, Rachel Newvine, Corey Storrin, Tom Storrin, Adam Green, Matthew Green, and Erica Green.
He is predeceased by his father Jack, his uncle Tom Storrin, and his grandparents George and Grace Doty and John U. and Shirley Green.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Ryan's Wish Foundation, Friends 4 Pound Paws, St. James School, or the Gouverneur Vol. Fire Department.
