Dale David Hutton, age 73, of Fowler, passed away on October 16, 2023 at his home.
His memorial service will be private. There will be a Celebration of Life held at The Glow in Edwards on Friday, October 20, 2023 beginning at 1:00 p.m. Arrangements are with French Funeral Home in Gouverneur. Condolences may be shared online at www.frenchfuneralhomes.com.
Dale was born at his parents’ home in Rossie on December 28, 1949. His parents were the late Ai “Stub” Baxter Hutton and Betty Irene (Swem) Hutton. He graduated from Hammond Central School.
Dale married his best friend, Marie A. Luther on August 20, 2005 at “The River”, their camp in Rossie. They were together over 35 years. Dale began working for his parents on their farm as a young man. He then worked as a miner for St. Joe and as a paper maker for the Natural Dam Paper Mill. He transferred to the Newton Falls Paper Mill where he worked his way up to Technical Service Representative and retired from there after 34 years of service. Dale worked at the Deferiet Paper Mill until the facility closed and then worked as a CDL driver for Hilltop Energy until retiring in 2012.
Dale was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, and riding 4-wheelers and his side by side. He loved going to “The River” to stay at camp, sitting at the “Round Table” to have drinks with family and friends, and especially spending time with those he loved, including his dog, Marley.
Dale was a member of Wildwood Masonic Lodge #477, and a life time member of Pine Hill Pond Hunting Club, and Hall’s Huntin’ Haven.
He is survived by his wife, Marie Hutton, daughters, Beverly and Howard Phelps and Donna Hutton, brother-in-law, Richard Davidson, grandchildren, Jeremy and wife, Michelle Phelps, Jordan Phelps and companion Amanda Cox, Jacey Phelps and companion, Dylan Clement, Camron Lancto and his companion, Sierra Lashua, his great-grandchildren, twins, Jackson and John Phelps, and Hudson Dale Phelps, his beloved dog and constant companion, Marley, his friend, Bob Webster, and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his parents and four siblings, Marguerite Davidson, and in infancy, Ai Hutton, Jr., Donald Hutton, and Venita Hutton.
