Mr. George Alfred Lamica, age 83, passed away Tuesday, August 10, 2021. He was born March 7, 1938 in De Peyster, New York to George H. Lamica and Martha M. Kelly Lamica.
Mr. Lamica was a resident of Portland, Florida. He was Christian by Faith. He was a Veteran of the United States Armed Forces, serving his country in the United States Air Force and the United States Air Force Reserves. He graduated in 1956 from Gouverneur High School in Gouverneur, New York. He worked as a Field Engineer in water desalination for twenty years. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and he especially enjoyed spending time with his granddaughters.
Mr. Lamica is preceded in death by his father George H. Lamica and his mother Martha M. Kelly Lamica.
Mr. Lamica is survived by his two sons Ken Lamica of Tuscaloosa, Alabama and Tim Lamica of Bruce, Florida; one brother Donnie Lamica and his wife Pat; and his five granddaughters Eryn Lamica, Tannyr Lamica Bush and her husband Alex, Karsyn Parker and her husband Caleb, Blayke Lamica and Liberty Lamica.
A graveside service was held on Aug. 13 with Military Honors by the United States Air Force at Hatcher Cemetery; Freeport, Florida.
There will be a celebration of life on Saturday, August 28, 11 a.m., at the North Gouverneur United Methodist Church. A luncheon will follow.
