James W. Frappier, 80, of Norfolk, Virginia, passed away on October 8, 2022

Jim was born on August 27, 1942 in Herkimer, NY. Jim attended Gouverneur High School, class of 1960. He graduated from SUNY Canton in 1962 with a degree in Applied Science.

Jim entered the U.S. Navy on March 10, 1964 and proudly served for 25 years. He retired from the Navy on May 31, 1989.

Jim was predeceased by his parents Ernest Frappier, Elizabeth Swem, and stepfather, Alva Swem and sister Susan Swem. Jim is survived by his son Christopher (Carrie) Frappier, Arizona and a stepson Jack (Kelly) Ruth, Pennsylvania, two brothers, Richard (Paula) Frappier, Herkimer and Ronnie (Judy Bush),Gouverneur, Sisters Nancy (Kerry) Bickford, Fine, Judy (Jerry) Fairbanks, Colorado, Marcalene (David) Blair, Gouverneur, Marilyn (Joseph) Poplawski, California, and Carolyn (Randy) Constance, Gouverneur.

Jim was an avid collector. His dogs were his constant companions and he loved them dearly.

Jim will be laid to rest in the family lot at St. James Cemetery in Gouverneur, NY on October 29, 2022 at 1:00pm.
