Robert (Lancto) Johnson, 90, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on May 6, 2023. He was a beloved husband, dad, grandfather, great grandfather and great great grandfather.
He was born March 23, 1933 in Brownville, New York. Son of Dolph Lancto and Bertha Cunningham.
He attended schools in Gouverneur.
On June 10, 1951 he married the love of his life Evelyn Wylie, a romance that lasted 72 years. Together they had 4 children, Vicky of Kent, WA; Robert of Sumner, WA; Scott (Thayne) of Snohomish, WA and Marion (Don) of Marysville, WA. He leaves behind 4 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren.
Robert worked from 1951-1959 at St Joe Lead, Balmat, New York. In 1959 he went into heavy construction working on dams in several states. And high-rise buildings in Seattle, WA. He worked in different states after leaving New York, but ended up in Washington State in 1969, living in Federal Way for the past 54 years.
He was very active after retirement working odd jobs in the senior community which he lived in. If a person needed something done no matter what, he could do it. He didn’t charge much for his work, since he loved what he was doing and it helped his neighbors.
He enjoyed playing BINGO and going to the casino. Also he loved to spend time with his family who will miss him dearly.
Robert is predeceased by his father and mother, his brothers Donald Lancto; Raymond Lancto;
Lawrence Lancto; Art Lancto; Avery Dimon and sisters Leona Lancto (Hutchinson) and Marion Dimon (Bell).
His place of rest will be at Marysville Cemetery, Marysville, WA.
