Sallie Jo (McBroom) Emrich, 60, passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2024 at Upstate Hospital in Syracuse.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, October 6th, from 12:00 to 2:00 pm with a funeral service at 2:00 pm at the Green Funeral Home, Gouverneur. Following the service, a celebration of life will be held at the Gouverneur VFW from 3:00 to 5:00 pm.
Sallie was born on April 8, 1964 in Gouverneur, the daughter of Dorothy Tharrett.
She attended Gouverneur schools and received recognition as a certified nurses aide.
Sallie worked for E.J. Noble Hospital and Gouverneur Hospital for nearly 30 years, taking great pride in the care of her patients.
She married Alan “Al” Emrich on February 14, 2001.
Sallie enjoyed listening to music and singing, spending time with her pets, friends, and family, and taking the time to assist help in need whether it was at work or out in the general public. She was also known to enjoy a cold one here and there.
She is survived by her husband Al, her children Heather Jesmer and Vance Jesmer, her grandson Nathan Watson her siblings Richard Tharrett, Allen McBroom, Lorraine Stowell, Connie LaBow, and Judy Nichols, many nieces and nephews. Sallie is predeceased by her parents Dorothy McBroom and William Mouck, siblings Robert McBroom, Ed McBroom, Gary Tharrett, and Linda Stowell.
