Gregory Crandall

Gregory D. Crandall, age 41, of Gouverneur, NY passed away on Thursday, October 9, 2025 at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady surrounded by his family.

Greg was born on March 5, 1984 in Gouverneur to Gary and Margaret (Barbarito) Crandall. He attended Gouverneur Central School and on July 12, 2008, he married JoAnn Hills at her parent’s home in Gouverneur. Greg worked for CIVES Steel in Gouverneur as a Quality Control Inspector.

When Greg wasn’t working, he loved to go fishing or spend time watching his boys play football. He loved grilling, smoking various foods, sitting with friends and family around a campfire, going to concerts and enjoyed watching fireworks. He was a former member of the Gouverneur Volunteer Fire Department.

Surviving is his wife, JoAnn; their three boys, Michael, Curtis and Chad; his father, Gary Crandall; a sister, Kellie and Zachary Taylor and their two girls Aubrie and Avery and his mother-in-law, Sharon Liscum.

Greg is predeceased by his mother, Margaret and his father-in-law, Kurt Liscum.

In keeping with Greg’s wishes, there will be no calling hours or funeral service. Burial will be private. There will be a celebration of Greg’s life at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to French Funeral Home, Gouverneur.
