Georgiana Marie Cowles, passed away on September 27, 2025 surrounded by her family while under the care of Hospice of St. Lawrence Valley. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Frary Funeral Home, 33 Park Street, Gouverneur.
Georgiana was born in Elmira, New York on April 16, 1950 to the late Richard and Alois (Palmer) Riker. She graduated from Thomas A. Edison High School in Elmira Heights, New York. She married Richard Cowles on July 20, 1968 in Elmira, New York. Georgiana was a homemaker.
She is survived by her children, a son, Christopher, a daughter Karen both of Gouverneur, brothers Joel, and Henry “Hank” Riker, two sisters, Joella and Mary Riker. She is predeceased by her parents, her husband, a son Andrew, brothers Richard and Jeffrey, a sister Evadne.
Georgiana was a member of the local home bureau, she enjoyed crocheting, doing crafts, and having lunch with her home bureau ladies.
Memorial donations in Georgiana’s memory may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of St. Lawerence Valley, or the Gouverneur Fire Department.
