Candie Morse, age 72, of Gouverneur, NY passed away peacefully at her daughter’s home in Modoc, SC.
She was born on September 09, 1952 in Watertown, NY to Howard (Lefty) Countryman and Sally Farlinger. Candie graduated from Gouverneur High School in 1970 and went on to receive her bachelor’s degree from SUNY Potsdam.
She married William “Bill” Morse on September 26, 1987 at the Richville First Methodist Church. She and William dedicated their lives to Christ, in baptism together, at their home in September 2022.
She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sibling, and friend. She is survived by her children: Bobbie Jo Countryman Cushman, Billie Jo (Countryman) York, Jimmy Smith Jr, Kenny Smith, Ryan Morse and Misty (Morse) Richards, she also leaves behind 16 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Alan Countryman, sister Bonnie Hance and sister Shelly Payne. She was preceded in death by her husband Bill in October 2022 and parents Lefty and Sally.
Candie’s favorite hobbies were playing bingo and growing beautiful sunflowers and gardens during the spring and summer. Her flowers were her pride and joy.
There will be no service, as a Celebration of Life was held in August 2022 with a large family gathering.
Memorial donations in memory of Candie are encouraged to the Shriners Hospitals for Children or Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
May her beautiful soul finally find her eternal rest, in Christ Jesus.
