Sally Figert, 82, of Tavares, FL, and formerly of Gouverneur and Watertown, NY, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2025. Born on July 7, 1942, to the late Alfred and Jaqueline LaPierre (Marion), Sally graduated from Gouverneur H.S. in 1960. She married Richard Parker which ended in a divorce and years later married Alfred Bero which ended in his passing. Several years later she married Lowell Figert which sadly ended in his passing. Sally pursued her passion for nursing, graduating with honors from St. Lawrence Nursing College as a RN, and achieved a master's in nursing from Manhattan School of Nursing. She began her nursing career in several upstate hospitals along with being co-owner with her sister-in-law, Marilyn, the Stitch Station in Watertown. She also loved to paint in oil and watercolors of which she was very accomplished. She enjoyed traveling and several cruises to Europe which she thoroughly enjoyed. Her love for her cats and dogs was paramount along with her being an avid reader and she still found time to devote many volunteer hours to the American Legion Auxiliary in Watertown. At the end of her nursing career Sally was a traveling nurse, working in several hospitals in Sarasota, FL, and Punta Gorda, FL, and finally moving to Tavares, FL to take care of her mother Jackie who had recently moved there. Sally is survived by her son Michael and daughter-in-law Diana, many nieces and nephews who she loved to the moon, along with her brothers Roger (Marilyn) and William (Bill), both living in Tavares, FL.
