On Monday, January 11 at 5:20 p.m., the Gouverneur Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire. 11-1 arrived on scene confirming a working fire. The GFD Engine 17's crew was assigned interior attack entering the front door to stop the fire from entering the house from the attached garage. Crews were able to make a good hit on the large body of fire stopping it in the entry way from the garage. Units were on scene for three hours overhauling to make sure all hot spots were out. Members were able to remove an animal from the house unharmed. One Gouverneur firefighter had minor burns from interior operations.
