The New York State Public High School Athletic Association Section 10 presented its awards following the Section 10 Class C Championship game on Saturday, November 5 at the Frank LaFalce Field in Gouverneur.
The awards were announced by Gouverneur Wildcat Coach John Free. The ceremony was made possible due to the efforts of Section 10 as well as GHS Principal/Athletic Director Cory Wood. The Gouverneur Wildcat Coaching Staff, including Head Coach Sean Devlin, Assistant Coach Justin Young, and Coach Frank Bush, Cody Hartle, Aaron McEathron, and Rick Vrooman were congratulated the Gouverneur Wildcat student-athletes on their achievements.

The Section 10 Championship Banner was presented to the Gouverneur Wildcat Varsity Football Team following their win, 65-8, over the St. Lawrence Larries on Nov. 5. Each student-athlete on the team was recognized. They are as follows: Noel LaPierre, Lucas Griffith, Daniel Thomas, Raine Rumble, Tucker Mussaw, Holden Stowell, Brodie Burns, Gunner Simmons, Ka-Deem Hairston, William Riutta, Connor Witherell, Cameron Barbarito, Jonavin Ayen, Kylen Bowman, Trevor Moore, Laike Lumley, Vincent Thomas, Hunter Mashaw, Drew Gates, Gage Cornell, Connor Bishop, Tucker Tibbits, Ethan Alguire, Gavin McNeil, Avery Winters, Owen Siebels, Kobe Steorts, Gabriel Hance, Cael Denesha, Cade Denesha, Jaret Link, Alexander Ordway, Tanner Hitchcock, Ashton Bowman. T-shirts were also presented to the student-athletes.
The Outstanding Sportsmanship Award was presented the Gouverneur Wildcat Ethan Alguire, St. Lawrence Larries Dylan Bodway, and Tupper Lake Lumberjack Jamin Whitmore.
The Athletes of Distinction Award went to the seniors who have maintained a cumulative grade average of 90 or above during their high school careers. The award was presented to the following senior student-athletes Gouverneur Wildcats Noel LaPierre and Kobe Steorts, St Lawrence Larries Alannah Baker and John Snyder, Tupper Lake Lumberjacks Noah Plumley and Jamin Whitmore.
The Section 10 Northern All-Conference Awards were presented as follows. Second Team All-Northern: Gouverneur Wildcat Jaret Link, St. Lawrence Larries John Snyder, Tupper Lake Jayden Farnsworth. First Team All Northern: Gouverneur Wildcats Vincent Thomas, Holden Stowell, Owen Siebels, Kobe Steorts, Gage Cornell, and Gunner Simmons, St. Lawrence Central Larries Nathan White, Xavier Shattuck, Ayden Beach, Tupper Lake Lumberjacks Owen Whitman, Tyler Wood, and Tyler LaPlant.
Great cheers and applause rang out from the crowds as the student-athletes were recognized for all their achievements. Many words of congratulations were extended to all the award winners. Good luck was also wished to the Gouverneur Wildcats as they face Section VII’s Saranac on Friday, November 11, 7 p.m. kickoff, at Ogdensburg Free Academy.
