Harriett “Hattie” Louise McDougall, age 80, passed away on December 3, 2016 at Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center in Ogdensburg.
Calling hours were held at French Funeral Home in Gouverneur on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 from 11 a.m. to 1p.m. immediately followed by her funeral service at 1p.m. Burial will be in the East Riverside Cemetery.
Harriett was born on February 29, 1936 in Hermon to the late Milton and Leta (Besaw) Tharrett. She married Charles McDougall, Jr. on April 10, 1954. He passed away on March 7, 1972.
Mrs. McDougall had worked as an assembly line worker for Climax Manufacturing in Watertown. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and enjoyed crocheting, dancing and listening to country music, and playing Bingo.
She is survived by three daughters, Kathy and Jim Harris, Debbie and Herbie Coates, Amie and Dave Wing; four sons, Joie and Diane McDougall, David and Cathy McDougall, Stevie and Diane McDougall and Allen McDougall; a brother, LeRoy Tharrett; and a sister, Loretta Patton. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Harriett is predeceased by her parents, her husband, Charles, a brother, Kenneth Rickett and four sisters, Rosemary Jesmer, Mildred Rickett, Betty Durham and Dorothy McBroom. She is also predeceasedbytwo sons, Allen L. McDougall and Alton R. Dodge, Jr. and her companion, Alton Dodge.
