Richard A. Parker, 75, passed away June 7, 2016 in Greenfield, Mass. at the Franklin Medical Center.
Dick was born on February 1, 1941 in Gouverneur, to Walter and Grace (Hance) Parker. He graduated from Gouverneur Central School in 1959. He joined the US Navy right after graduation. During his deployment, his ship had an active part in the Cuban Missile Crisis. Dick worked as an electrician for IBEW Local, NABA and Applied Dynamics until retirement.
He is survived by a brother Earl (Edwards), a sister and brother-in-law Elizabeth (Liz) and Christopher Steele (Hailesboro) and a brother-in-law James Allen (Webster, N.Y.) and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and sister Laura Allen. A marriage to Sally LaPierre ended in divorce.
Dick was an avid sports fan and a loyal Greenfield baseball spectator. He had a love for trains and his family.
There will be no calling hours or funeral.
