Mary Lee Woodrow, 75, of Gouverneur passed away Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at her home, surrounded by her family.
Calling hours were Thursday, July 28 from 11 a.m. to 12 noon with a funeral service following at noon at the Green Funeral Home, Gouverneur with Rev. Gregory Bailey, pastor of the Trinity Episcopal Church, Gouverneur officiating and burial in East Riverside Cemetery, Gouverneur.
Memorial donations in Mary's memory may be made to Hospice of St. Lawrence Valley, 6805 US Hwy 11, Potsdam, N.Y. 13676.
Mary was born at home in Pyrites on April 7, 1941, the daughter of Albert and Dorothy James Dafoe.
She graduated from high school and worked many years in the local area including JJ Newberry's for over 20 years, at St. Lawrence University as a line cook, and more recently at McDonald's in Gouverneur.
Mary married Lawrence E. Woodrow on July 19, 1975 at the Gouverneur First United Methodist Church with Rev. Stanley E. Brown presiding and the couple recently celebrated their 41st wedding anniversary.
Mary enjoyed working hard, but most of all, enjoyed spending time with her family, especially grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband Lawrence "Woody" Woodrow, her children- John A. Andrus and fiancé Ann Burstin of Balston Spa, Katherine M. Robbins of Somerville, Sheryl D. Holmes and husband Dan of Gouverneur, her grandchildren Jeffrey Robbins and fiance Amber Leween, Jessica Andrus-Companion and husband Kenneth, Jennifer Bouyea and husband Corey, James Andrus and wife Heather.
Mary is also survived by her sister Joyce Fountain and husband Sonny of Pyrites, Molly Tresidder of Russell, her stepchildren Lawrence Woodrow Jr. and wife Julie, Pam Bovay and husband Jody, Rusty Woodrow, Randy Woodrow, Ricky Woodrow and wife Trudy, several great grandchildren, step grandchildren, and step great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her parents, brothers Sonny, Donnie, James, and Ronnie Dafoe andsisters Alice DeLorme, Janie Hooper, and Mary Ann Mussen.
