Alice Ann Courts Perry, age 84, formerly of Gouverneur, passed away on August 29, 2016 in Amarillo, Texas.
There will be a funeral mass on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at the St. James Catholic Church in Gouverneur at 11:00 a.m. with Father Shane Lynch officiating. Burial will follow in the New St. James Cemetery. Arrangements are with French Funeral Home in Gouverneur.
Alice was born on October 26, 1931 in Croghan, N.Y. to Elmer and Jessie Campany. She attended business school following high school. She moved to Amarillo in 1997. Alice was a homemaker. She did volunteer work at the Ronald McDonald House. She was an active member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and was a member of The Legion of Mary. Alice enjoyed reading, and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She prayed the rosary faithfully every day.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, James Courts in 1996; her son, Lawrence Courts in 2014; and several siblings.
Survivors include her husband, Ollie Perry; two sons, Steve Courts and wife Patsy of Amarillo, Joe Courts and wife Lori of Raleigh, N.C.; two daughters, Peggy Garrett of Naples, FL, and Sally Besaw and husband Joe of Rochester, NY; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; three step-children; four step-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.
