Erlene L. Mousaw, age 83, of Gouverneur, passed away at home on Thursday, September 22, 2016 under the care of her loving family and Hospice.
There was a graveside service held on Monday, September 26, 2016 at 3 p.m. in the Hailesboro Cemetery officiated by Rev. Howard Maxson. Arrangements are with French Funeral Home, Gouverneur.
Erlene was born on December 13, 1932 in Gouverneur to the late Clarence “Hick” and Harriet (Basset) Conklin. She graduated from the Gouverneur Central School in 1950. She had worked as a telephone operator in Gouverneur before becoming a full time Mom. In her free time, she loved to listen to music and dance; and enjoyed knitting and crocheting.
Erlene was married to Robert W. Kulp, Sr. Mr. Kulp passed away in 1971. She married Richard A. Mousaw. Mr. Mousaw passed away in 2012.
Her survivors include three children, Sandra Given, Bob Kulp and Joan Facello, Linda and Joseph Girard; four step-children, Patricia and Michael Abbott, Suzanne and Randy Binion-Wilke, Andrew and Lois Mousaw and Scott and Cindy Mousaw; and three sisters, Mary McClure, Kay and John Perry, and Joan Sheen. She is also survived by many grandchildren, step-grandchildren, great grandchildren and step-great grandchildren.
In addition to her husbands, Erlene is predeceased by a son, Randy Kulp; two brothers, Herbert and Francis Conklin; and a sister, Margaret Bresett.
