Robert M. Petrie, age 81, of Macomb, passed away suddenly on September 1, 2016 at the Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center in Ogdensburg after becoming ill at home.

Robert was born in Natural Dam on July 12, 1935 to the late William and Lyla (McPherson) Petrie. He attended the Gouverneur Central School and served in the National Guard Army Reserves.
He married Sandra T. Tulley on June 14, 1958 at the Heuvelton United Methodist Church, officiated by Rev. Kelsey Bicknell. Robert worked as a roofer for the Farley Roofing Company for 21 years before retiring in 1995.
Mr. Petrie was a member of the Roofer’s Union, the DeKalb Am Vets, the N.R.A., and enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening.
His survivors include his wife, Sandra; sons, William, Lonny and his wife, Heidi and Robert Petrie; daughters, Robyne Petrie-Platt and Candace Petrie; sons-in-law, Sam Parker, Michael Platt and Robert Thomas, Jr.; a sister, Bonnie Petrie; and brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Dawn Petrie. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and a great-great grandson.
Robert is predeceased by a son, James Petrie, a daughter, Sherry Parker, two brothers, Lyle and Donald Petrie, and two granddaughters, Tiffany Petrie and Laura Petrie Weir.
