Elfriede "Frieda" Perrigo, 80, Gouverneur, passed away on Wednesday, April 26, 2017, at her home.
   Funeral services are at the convenience of the family and arrangements are with the Green Funeral Home, Gouverneur.
   Elfriede was born on May 23, 1936 in Mammendorf, Germany, the daughter of Martin and Anna Herbts Schallermayer.
   She attended school in Gerlinden, Germany and apprenticed in millinery in Munich, Germany.
   Frieda married Everett Lacey in November 1953, and he passed away shortly afterwards. She then married the love of her life, Melvin Joseph Perrigo, on September 16, 1955. Melvin passed away in 1975.
   She worked at Kinney Drugs, Gouverneur Bowl, and Roma Restaurant, retiring in 1985.
   Frieda enjoyed knitting, playing bingo, traveling, and visiting with friends and family.
   She is survived by her children Bonnie Hatline of Trent, TX, Kelvin and Tracy (Lambert) Perrigo of Gouverneur, Bryan and Brenda (June) Perrigo of Gouverneur, a daughter-in-law Darlene (Wilmet) Lacey, nine grandchildren, several great grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister Thekla Schissel of Otching, Germany, nieces and nephews.
Frieda is predeceased by her parents, her two husbands Everett and Melvin, a daughter Gloria Perrigo, a son Harold Lacey, a son-in-law Larry Hartline, a brother Martin Schallermayer and a sister Anna Stokes.
