Gary G. Jareo

Gary G. Jareo, 75, passed away at Gouverneur Hospital on Sunday, September 3, 2023.

There will be no calling hours or funeral services. Arrangements are with Green Funeral Home, Gouverneur.

Gary was born in Watertown on June 20, 1948, the son of Claude Stephen and Betty Jean (Weaver) Jareo.

Following graduation from Henderson High School, he attended Clarkson University and Canton ATC.

Gary worked for various contracting companies, many years with Brown & Storie Company in Gouverneur. He retired from Carpenters Local #277.

He was a member of the SONS of the American Legion Post #65 in Gouverneur. Gary enjoyed running his sled dogs, traveling for trials with his fox hounds, hunting, and watching television Westerns.

Gary married Donna Robinson in Gouverneur on November 15, 1991.

Previous marriages ended in divorce.

Gary is survived by his wife Donna, his children Carrie and William Cousino, Steven and Sarah Burke, Christi Hutchinson and her companion Mike, Amy Burke and her companion James, Scott and Shelley Jareo, Benjamin Jareo, Polly and Steve Birtch, Stephanie and Bennie Hodkinson, many grandchildren and great grandchildren, brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents and several of his siblings.
