Duane D. Vrooman age 88, passed away on Saturday October 18, 2025 at Gouverneur Hospital. As per Duane’s wishes there will be no funeral services. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Frary Funeral Home, 33 Park Street, Gouverneur.

Duane was born on August 17, 1937, he graduated from Gouverneur Central School in 1955. On June 30, 1956 he married Sheila June at the Gouverneur Methodist Church with Rev. Stanley Brown officiating. Duane at one time worked at Mercers Dairy, Rouses Garage, St. Joe Minerals, his father’s grocery store in Hailesboro and P&C Foods Company then becoming an electrician at Corning Glass Works in Canton. He was a trustee at the Fowler Baptist Church, a member of the full Gospel Businessmen Association, a member of the Moldy Pond Hunting Club and the Elks Club.

He is survived by his sons, Melburn, and Kevin, his grandchildren and great grandchildren, he is predeceased by his wife Sheila, and a son Todd “TJ” Vrooman.

Duane enjoyed hunting and spending time with his family. He was loved by all and will be greatly missed.
