Russell Paul Bridge of Antwerp passed away peacefully on October 19, 2025, just shy of his 70th birthday. Born on October 30, 1955, Russell was the son of Charles Sr. and Joyce (Haymond) Bridge of Antwerp.

A proud graduate of Indian River Central High School, Russell began his working life at St. Joe’s Mines before answering the call to serve his country. In 1976, he entered active duty in the U.S. Army as a Cavalry Scout, earning an honorable discharge in 1982. His military career was marked by dedication and excellence, earning him the Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, and expert distinctions in rifle and grenade. He was stationed at Fort Riley, Kansas; Nuremberg, Germany; and Fort Bliss, Texas. After active duty, Russell continued to serve in the Army Reserve as a Scout Section Sergeant and USARF School Instructor.

Following his military service, Russell worked as a small arms repairman in the weapons vault at Fort Drum, retiring in 2005. His commitment to service and craftsmanship was evident in every role he held.

Russell was an avid outdoorsman, finding joy in hunting and fishing. He was also a gifted musician, first performing with the Bridge Brothers and later becoming a familiar face in local bands such as Blue Suede Shoes and Common Ground. His solo performances at weddings, tournaments, and community celebrations brought joy to many.
