Richard Lloyd Tyler, age 77, of Harrisville, passed away on Saturday, June 20, 2026.
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen “Kasey”, two sons, Richard Eugene and his wife Lori Tyler, Dansville, NY; Robert Joseph and his wife Celeste Tyler, Rotterdam, NY. He is also survived by his 6 grandchildren, Bradley, Chelsie, Megan, Bradey, Savanna and Annalise and his sister, Marilyn Maine and her husband Sheldon, along with many nieces and nephews. Rick is predeceased by his parents, Richard and Marjory Tyler and his sister, Carolyn Pistolesi and her husband Joseph.
Born in Gouverneur, NY at the old E.J. Noble Hospital on October 12, 1948 to the late Richard James and Marjory (Seavey) Tyler. Rick graduated from Gouverneur High School in 1966. He served in the United States Army 42nd division 108th infantry. He worked on construction for 45 years, starting with Rouse Construction and retiring from M. Hubbard Construction. Building was his purpose. He built and lived in four new homes. He had lots of hard times, but thanks to the 3 F’s – Faith, Family and Friends, he was able to enjoy life. He married Kathleen M. Bennett at Sodus Point, NY on October 28, 2007. Rick lived an exciting life and was saved in 2017. John 3:16 was a favorite verse he lived by.
Calling hours will be from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. at the Gouverneur Community Center at Riverside Park on Thursday, June 25, 2026 followed by a memorial service at 3:00 p.m. Coffee and donuts, Rick’s favorites, will be available following the service. Rick will be buried at a future date in the Hailesboro Cemetery.
