Maraleen I. "Poopsie" Gillette, 92, of Antwerp, passed away at her home on Friday, October 21, 2016.
There are no calling hours or funeral services. Arrangements are with the Green Funeral Home, Gouverneur.
Maraleen was born on June 19, 1924 in Binghamton, the daughter of Francis and Marion Darling Skinner.
She graduated from Gouverneur High School in 1942, worked at the Kinney Drugs warehouse for several years, and was a homemaker.
Maraleen also was a seamstress, enjoyed making crafts, bowling, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Maraleen married Gerald H. Smith and he passed away in 1955. She married Donald Gillette and he died in 1979.
She is survived by her children: Gerald H. Smith of Idaho, Donald Gillette Jr. of Mt. Dora, FL, Darlene Hull of Antwerp, a sister Dorothea Mauldin of South Carolina, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Maraleen was predeceased by her parents, her two husbands, two sons- Steven Smith and Martin Smith, a daughter Jo Ann Richardson, a brother Francis W. Skinner Jr., and a sister Sally Hargroves.
