The Gouverneur Wildcat Varsity Girls Soccer feted its nine senior student-athletes in a special Senior Night ceremony on October 14, before the game against Malone Central. The Wildcats won the game, 3-0. A tribute detailing the accomplishments of Gouverneur Wildcat senior student-athletes was displayed along the fence for fans to peruse before the game.
The Senior Night Ceremony was emceed by Gouverneur Wildcat Varsity Girls Soccer Coach Kutis Wells, who said the following: “I met these Seniors when they first came up in 2016 as 7th graders. They have played in countless practices, games, and tournaments during the fall, winter, spring and summer together, throughout their middle and high school careers and before. They have had a lot of accomplishments together in those years – multiple tournament wins, part of Gouverneur Varsity championship season and just growing as friends and teammates. Their record together in the six season that I have coached or have been part of their soccer life and training is 62-15.
Coach Wells extended gratitude to the seniors “for their dedication and efforts that they give every day in the sport of soccer,” and to the parents “for letting me train and teach your athletes throughout the years that I have known them.” Gratitude was also extended to all the family and friends that come to each game to support Gouverneur Wildcat Varsity Girls Soccer.
A yellow carnation and blue ribbon was presented to each senior student-athlete as their name was called. The bouquets were purchased by the Wildcat Athletic Booster Club through Emily’s Flower Shop in Gouverneur.
The seniors honored include the following:
